Hennessey Venom GT is American sports car of the tuning company Hennessey Performance Engineering, founded on the basis of Lotus Exige body using a donor engine from the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (GM LS7).
The project follows similar and earlier drafts of other automakers with the same body of the Lotus, using the same donor engines. For example, Lotus Extrema model of Italian design companies UK Garage and Composite Worx 2009.
January 21, 2013 the car got into the Guinness Book of Records, speeding up to 300 km / h in 13.63 seconds, beating the previous record of Koenigsegg Agera R in 14.53 seconds. February 14, 2014 the car Hennessey Venom GT broke the unofficial record for the fastest car – when it reached a speed of 435.31 km / h.
