Every car maker wants to take a bite out of the pie in the segment of sub-compact cross over. This segment is seeing its cars shrink in size and most of the car makers are launching their products in coming year or two. But Mazda CX 3 has taken a leap and will always be a frontrunner in this segment. Review Mazda CX 3 to realize that with its sharp style, elegant interiors, and frugal engine, it is all set to make a mark.

The Outlook – Review Mazda CX 3
The bits and bytes running through the Kodo design language of Mazda have been able to produce a mini crossover SUV with a very muscular look without foregoing the premium touches to its overall demeanor. The clean linear and slightly curvy lines give an appearance of a predator crouching to pounce upon its prey but with style and grace. The base models balance themselves on 16 inch wheels but the touring models come with 18 inch wheels which actually complete and complement the squat athletic look of this vehicle.
The Inside of the Beauty
The grace of the exteriors is accentuated inside the cabin with a very slick and neatly finished view. The entry and ignition is keyless and the top line models come with an overhead sunglass storage box. The steering wheel bears plenty of nifty controls and to add on to the fun there is a multifunction click wheel commander sitting in between the front two seats. MZD connect caters for complete infotainment needs which include a 6 speaker system and a bright 7 inch display which is controlled by the click wheel and is also touch screen sensitive. The infotainment system brings out crisp music and also patches on to a Bluetooth enabled phone for all communication necessities. The GT version has upscale upholstery and fittings with touches of red and metallic accents. The GT also gets a central tachometer and a more than appealing digital speedometer. To concentrate on the road there is also a heads-up display available in top models. The only gripe about these fantastic interiors may be the somewhat cramped space for the people occupying rear seats. The backs of the front seats do impede extension of lower limbs so these should be reserved for children or those with slight builds.
When you review Mazda CX 3, you see other goodies include a powered sunroof, a satellite radio, heated exterior mirrors, Bose stereo, and heated front seats in top variants.
CX-3 is equipped with numerous electronic assistants, including a communication system MZD Connect and integrated preventive safety system i-Activsense. It has radar cruise control for collision alerts, lane departure warning, automatic smart braking, automatic headlights, and a rain sensor to activate wind shield wipers.
Engine, Performance, and Handling
This vehicle with superlative exteriors and fantastic interiors is powered by Mazda’s Skyactiv – G, 2.0 liter four cylinder engine. Review Mazda CX 3 to conclude that this, perhaps, is the only let down part of the vehicle. Though mated to a six speed automatic and a sport mode with paddle shifts, the vehicle really doesn’t respond as expected. It revs out 146 HPs at 6000RPM and manages zero to 100 kph in not so impressive 8 seconds. Overall it is not a fast vehicle and the engine gets a little “croaky” when challenged for more output. Its USP is of course the frugality of about 15 km to a liter of petrol for the front wheel drive version and slightly less for the all-wheel drive version. Handling and ride is responsive enough.
Overall, Mazda CX 3 is a superbly designed vehicle which could have been a winner with a more agile engine.
Add to this the excellent handling, and get a true Mazda in compact crossover appearance. It compensates lack of functionality by the dynamics and handling.
